Almost five years ago, I found myself alone with two young boys. Necessity is always the mother of invention. Knowing that my children are everything to me, they came first. Therefore, I needed to find work that would allow me to be with them the majority of my time while still earning some kind of income. Food always sells. And I know food. It seemed perfect to me. With a few hundred dollars, I purchased some catering supplies. I had decided that office’s in this area had so little to choose from in the way of food--that is good food. Why not provide them with boxed lunches that were prepared fresh every day. So, a friend and I started calling businesses and delivering home made food for them at lunch time. I gave a lot of free food away for a couple of months. Soon, we were getting orders. I had heard that Carolyn, the owner of Finishing Touch Gallery, had space that she thought would make for a great Tea Room. Having served customers there a year prior, she thought it would be best if someone else ran a restaurant business there. To me, it was a great opportunity to continue my catering business and operate my own cafe’. I have been fortunate to serve the tri-state area food that I love to prepare and create. With our unique hours of operation, I still am able to spend time with my two boys. It has been a wonderful journey and I have learned so much about people and the business. Serving is my first love. It has been my pleasure to serve you. Janet
